This form is for registering for the district festival in Hamburg from Wednesday August 20th to Sunday August 24th, 2025. Only Vikings need to register. Visitors do not need to register in advance, of course.
Important note for traders and actors!
Anyone whose representation fits into the Viking period (Vikings, Slavs, Normans - 7th to 10th centuries) can take part. In order to create the flair of an authentic Viking market, we reserve the right to reject unsuitable applicants.
We ask for your understanding.
Attention: The registration deadline for actors is January 31st, 2025. Later applications can only be considered in exceptional cases.
What is it about:
The city of Hamburg approached us with the request to organize a closed Viking themed area as part of a district festival. The spectacle will take place in the east of Hamburg in a park with a lake (but not in Öjendorf). In addition to us, there will be other themed areas, which we will not define. Our themed area is located directly on the lake mentioned. We have currently been allocated an area where we can easily accommodate up to 50 tents + a show area. Security will be on site around the clock. Sanitary facilities including showers can be shared free of charge from a neighboring sports field. A daily fee for fighters and craftsmen has already been agreed. However, it is too early to go into more detail at this point.
As the preliminary planning, including with the city, is not yet fully completed and we are not interested in issuing false reports, we unfortunately cannot say any more at the moment. We hope you will forgive us for keeping this secret. However, we are aware that many performers are currently working on their annual plans and need dates and security. The same requirements apply to commitments for this event as for the commitment to the Viking Market in Jork. With one exception. Since we are limited in terms of space and want to present the city with the most interesting area possible, it may happen that we have to turn down one or the other.
We will select as follows.
- Pure craftsmen and traders' stands as well as camps where at least one fighter is registered for the show per tent,
- camps that have crafts or traders or fighters but require much more space,
- pure camps without traders, craftsmen or fighters for the show
We hope you don't take offense at this, of course we don't want to exclude anyone but as already described above we will be limited in terms of space and of course we want the most interesting setup possible for the visitor.
